The Competition

The Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition is chaired and directed by Kirill Troussov, one of the world-class leading violinists, provides young musicians a platform to express their creative and artistic abilities, and to meet and share their musical thought with competitors from around the world. The 1st Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition had been successfully taken place in June 2021 with its Gala Concert on 31 July 2021. The 4th Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition will be launched in Jan 2024.

The 4th Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition introduces international and for youngsters of high standards, aged under 23, are divided into four groups for solo violin, chamber and strings orchestra players. we will have Violinist Kirill Troussov, Prof. Ho-Young Pi (Korea), Savva Fatkulin (Spain), Tong Weidong (China), Leung Kin Fung (Hong Kong), Feng Jia (Hong Kong) in our Board of Jury.

Hong Kong, the Pearl of the Orient, and Kirill Troussov, our Chairman and Artistic Director, sincerely welcome music lovers from all over the world to join the 4th Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition!

Eligibility

The competition is open to all string players.

Deadline of Applications for the 2024 will be 28 Feb 2024.

Structure

The competition is preceded by a pre-selection round through blind-listening of the submitted recordings. This process is audited independently and the decision of the jury is final.

The semi will be announced in mid-march.
