The 4th Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition
will be held from 13 February 2024 to 13 April 2024. This competition is open to all violinists under 23 years old The public rounds are preceded by pre-selection , based on specific documents and video recordings submitted by the candidates.

The programme of the competition should represent the extraordinary wealth of violin repertoire from the Baroque period to the present. The competition is divided into four age categories, with two rounds for Category A, B and C after pre-selection: First Round and Final; and three rounds for Category D: Semi-Final and Gala-Final. Applicants will have freedom in arranging their programme beforehand according to the choices and time limits given for each round. The whole programme has to be played from memory except for the sonatas for violin and piano.

The Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition provides young musicians a platform to express their creative and artistic abilities, and to meet and share their musical thought with competitors from around the world.

The Fourth Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition introduces both international and regional competitions for youngsters of high standards. The international participants, aged under 23, are divided into three groups for solo violin, chamber and strings orchestra players.
