INTERNATIONAL VIOLIN CATEGORY A

Two Rounds
1st Round (online/video recording):
Duration: Not exceeding 10 minutes in length
Repertoire: Free choice of any ONE piece, can be the same repertoire chosen for the Final Round.
Final Round:
Final Round (online/video recording):
Duration: 15 – 20 minutes in length
Repertoires: A recital consisting of free choice repertoires from TWO different epochs.

Violin Category B – Age 11 - 15

Repertoire: Free choice of any TWO pieces, can be the same repertoire chosen for the Final Round.
Final Round:

Duration: 20 – 30 minutes in length
Repertoires: A recital consisting of free choice repertoires from TWO to THREE different epochs.
- Piano accompaniment must be arranged by participants except for solo piece.
- The whole program must be performed from memory except Sonatas.

Violin Category C – Age 16 - 22
INTERNATIONAL VIOLIN CATEGORY C
(born between April 15th 2006 and April 14th 2000)
Two Rounds
First Round (online/video recording):
Duration: 30 – 40 minutes in length
Repertoires:
a) One movement from ONE of the 6 Sonatas and Partitas (BWV S.1001 to S 1006) for solo violin of J. S. Bach (without repeat)
b) One caprice from Paganini 24 Caprices for Solo Violin, Op. 1
c) First or last movement of a Classical Sonata, and
d) A virtuoso piece
Final Round (online/video recording):
First or second and third movement from a Romantic Violin Concerto with cadenza by L. Van Beethoven, J. Brahms, F. Mendelssohn, N. Paganini, J. Sibelius, Synmanowski, P. Tchaikovsky, or H. Wieniawski (with piano accompaniment)

Chamber Group
INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER GROUPS FOR STRINGS
Senior (born between April 15th 2006 and April 14th 2000)

Junior (born after April 15th 2006)
- (online/video recording)
- Open to any group of string ensembles
- No individual may compete in more than one ensemble
- Changes in personnel are prohibited once the video has been submitted to the competition
- Each ensemble must submit video recordings of one or two selected movements. The video must include a minimum of 6 minutes of playing time from the Classical selection (i.e. Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven) and/or one movement from a contrasting period (Romantic, Impressionistic, or Contemporary).
- The video recording must show all ensemble members at all times. The picture must remain stationary (no panning, fade-in/fade-out or close-up techniques). The ensemble should fill the screen as much as possible. Each movement must be a complete take without editing.

Strings Orchestra
INTERNATIONAL STRINGS ORCHESTRA

- The number of performers of each team is restricted to 10 – 30, not including the conductor.
- Time limit:

- Can be in 2 separate videos
