Ilya Grubert

Ilya Grubert began his violin studies at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School. He later studied at the Moscow Central Music School and the Moscow Conservatory with Yuri Yankelevich, Zinaida Gilels, and Leonid Kogan. He is a multiple prizewinner of prestigious violin competitions. Earning his first international success by receiving 2nd prize at the Sibelius Competition in 1975, he subsequently won 1st prizes in both Paganini Competition in 1977, and Tchaikovsky Competition in 1978.

Zhang Zhi Xiang

Consultant

Professor Peter Shi-xiang Zhang was born in Beijing, China and graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1956. He was a Violin Professor at the Shanghai Conservatory from 1956 until his retirement in 1995. He has contributed to the raising standard of violin performance and training of young violinists in China through his introduction of new ideas on the art of violin playing and his translations of many books on violin performance into the Chinese language.

Gleb Dontsov

Violin Adjudicator

Gleb Dontsov was born in Omsk,in Russia.He graduated Tchaikovsky Moscow State College in 1992,under Professor Sergey Fatkulin. In 1997 he graduated Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, under Professor Eduard Grach. In 2001 he graduate Post Graduate Course of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Gleb Dontsov is laureate of several national competitions in Russia. He performed in famous concert halls-“Moscow Philharmonic Hall”, “Big and small halls of Tchaikovsky State Moscow Conservatory”, “Rachmaninov Hall”, and others. He was the concertmaster and soloist violinist in the Symphony Orchestra of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Also, he performed as a soloist and a member of Chamber Orchestra “Moskovia” under conductor and music director Eduard Grach.

Been accepted and performed in Tchaikovsky international Competition 3 times.: 1992 (junior division),2002 and 2007. Most of the time gives the performance on the cello. In his the repertoire of the majority of cello music of different ages and styles.

Savva Fatkulin

Violin Adjudicator

Savva Fatkulin was born in Sverdlovsk, Rusia en 1981. He began his violin studies at the age of 6, under the direction of his after, Sergui Fatkulin, at the Dependent Music School of the Moscow Conservatory. Later, he completed his musical training at the College of Music of Reina Sofia, at the Violin Chair of the Telefónica Foundation of the professor Zahkar Bron, Holder of the said chair, where he received the Certificate of Honor as a member of the Best Chamber Group of the School, from the hand of her Majesty the Queen Lady Sofía.
